Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill, Cross-Trainer, Upright Bike, and Recumbent Bike — SE4 Console
Your SE4 console pairs directly with Bluetooth headphones, earbuds, AirPods, and heart rate chest straps. This article shows how to put a device into pairing mode, find it under Settings and Devices, use the separate Headsets and Heart Rate Monitors tabs, and what to do when a device does not appear or the audio cuts out.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Connecting a device
- Put your device into pairing mode. For most headphones that means holding the power button until the light flashes. Check the instructions that came with them.
- On the console, open Settings — from the home screen, or the gear icon during a workout.
- Tap Devices to open Connect Devices.
- Choose the right tab — Headsets or Heart Rate Monitors.
- Find your device under Nearby Devices and tap it.
- Wait for confirmation. The console shows a success message and the device is listed as connected.
| Headsets and heart rate monitors are on separate tabs, and you can have one of each connected at the same time — headphones for your class, and a strap driving your heart rate on screen. |
What connects
- Bluetooth headphones and earbuds, including AirPods and open-ear or bone-conduction models.
- Bluetooth heart rate straps — needed for Heart Rate Goal workouts unless you are using an Apple Watch.
Wired headphones plug into the jack below the screen instead, and need no pairing. An Apple Watch connects a different way — see the Connecting Your Apple Watch article.
Troubleshooting
- My device is not in the list. It is probably not in pairing mode, or it has reconnected to your phone. Turn Bluetooth off on your phone, put the device back into pairing mode, and look again.
- I am on the wrong tab. Headphones only appear under Headsets, and straps only under Heart Rate Monitors. A device will not show up on the other tab.
- The audio cuts out. Bluetooth is affected by distance and by other devices in the room. If it persists, unpair and pair again.
- My heart rate strap connects but shows nothing. The strap needs skin contact to read. Make sure it is snug and moisten the electrode contacts — a dry strap often reads nothing at all.
- It does not reconnect automatically next time. The console should remember your devices. Switch your headphones on before waking the console, and if it still will not reconnect, pair them again.
Safety Pair your devices before you start your workout. Be aware that headphones — particularly noise-cancelling ones — make it harder to hear what is going on around you, so keep the volume at a level where you can still hear the room. |
