Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill, Cross-Trainer, Upright Bike, and Recumbent Bike — SL Console
Your SL console connects directly to an Apple Watch. Once paired, your heart rate shows on the console and your workout saves to your watch and to the Fitness app on your iPhone. This article shows where the Apple Watch pad is, how to pair using the Workout app, and what to do if the connection will not complete.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Connecting
- Wake the console if it is dark — press STOP on a treadmill, or start pedaling on a cross-trainer or bike — and give it a moment.
- Open the Workout app on your Apple Watch.
- Hold your watch near the Apple Watch pad at the lower right of the console — it is marked with the Apple Watch name.
- Confirm on your watch if it asks you to.
- Look for CONNECTED on the console display. That is your confirmation. You can now set up and start your workout as usual.
| Connect before you start your workout, not during. It takes a few seconds and needs your watch held steady against the pad. |
What you get
- Your heart rate shows on the console. Use the small arrows beside the last metric position to switch it from Pace to Heart Rate.
- Your workout saves to your Apple Watch and syncs to the Fitness app on your iPhone, alongside the rest of your activity.
- Your metrics stay in step. Your equipment and the watch share data, so your figures are not two different numbers.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing happens when I hold my watch to the pad. The Workout app has to be open on the watch first. Hold the watch face flat against the pad rather than nearby, and keep it there for a few seconds.
- The console never says CONNECTED. Check the console is awake and showing its usual message. A console in ErP Mode cannot pair — press STOP and wait for it to come back.
- My workout did not save. The connection needs to be made before you start, and the workout has to be ended on the console. If you stepped off without pressing STOP, the summary may not have been sent.
- I use a chest strap as well. Use one or the other. Connect a strap with the Bluetooth key instead, and leave the watch out of it.
