Install Main unit
The main unit is used together with a puck on gym machines, which is equipped with a weight stack. The main unit is mounted on the top plate of the weight stack, with a free line of sight to a reflective sticker that is attached to a flat surface above the main unit. The reflective sticker is mandatory to attach on a suitable area inside the machine with a free line of sight to the main unit. The optical sensor shall move together with the weight stack in a straight line against the reflective sticker. There must be a free field of view, approximately +/- 10 degrees from the sensor against the reflective sticker. The maximum distance between the main unit in its lowest position and the reflective card at the top is 160cm/63 inches.
Use the LF Assist App
The Life Fitness planner should have given you access to the facility in which you are installing. If you don't see the facility, contact the planner. They can add your account in almost real time. If you need to refresh the list after changes are made. Click on the 3 dots in the top right cover and click reload gyms
1. Press the machines tab in the site overview.
2. Press the “+”-button in machines overview.
3. Open the main unit by pressing on the top and pushing it slightly downward (releasing the locking mechanism) and then slide forward (length wise). Slide the top off and lift from the case. The white label is located beside the battery pack on one side. Note: install one battery from the packaging, You must install all four batteries properly in order for the unit to work.
4. Slide the top off and lift from the case. Install AA batteries making sure that all 4 batteries are placed correctly. (The main unit is in sleep mode when it is stationary. Shaking the main unit will wake it up. When the unit is awake a green LED light will flash every 3rd second, emitting its MAC address. After 3 seconds of no activity it will go back to sleep.)
5. Clean the top of the weight stack with an alcohol wipe. Make sure to wait a few minutes for the Isopropyl alcohol to fully dry. Make sure to place the main unit on the top plate. Depending on the type of stack it could be in different places. The Life Fitness engineering team has verified the main unit will fit onto the top headplate of the supported product lines. The surface on the weight stack shall be thoroughly cleaned with a soft cloth and Isopropyl alcohol (also called isopropyl, isopropanol, or 2-propanol) with more than 95% concentration, before mounting the main unit on the surface.

Install Reflective Card
The main unit is mounted on the top plate of the weight stack, with a free line of sight to a reflective sticker that is attached to a flat surface above the main unit. The reflective sticker is mandatory to attach on a suitable area inside the machine with a free line of sight to the main unit. The optical sensor shall move together with the weight stack in a straight line against the reflective sticker. There must be a free field of view, approximately +/- 10 degrees from the sensor against the reflective sticker. If the main weight stack of the machine doesn’t exist in the list, create a new one following these steps:
Enter the number of weights on the weight stack.
Add the first and second value of the weight stack.
A “smart-add” solution fills the rest of the list with values of the same delta weight as the last pair of weights. Confirm that the values are correct. If not, correct the values manually according to the weight stack from top to bottom. Press save.
If the machine has and incremental weight “extra weight”:
Select the extra weight by pressing the bottom weight stack.
Choose the extra weight stack amongst the list of weight stacks or create a new one by pressing the “+”-button. (If this is the first machine being installed on the site, the list will be empty)
If the increment weight "extra weight" stack of the machine doesn’t exist in the list, create a new one following these
steps:
Enter the number of stacks on the weight stack.
Add the first and second value of the weight stack.
A “smart-add” solution fills the rest of the list with values, in the same way as for the main unit stack. Confirm that all values are correct. A quick way to do this is to check to see if the bottom/heaviest number of the stack matches the bottom number on the app. If not, correct the values manually according to the weight stack from top to bottom. Press save.
