Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill — SE4 Console
ErP Mode is the energy-saving sleep mode on your Atmos Home Treadmill with the SE4 console. After one to five minutes of inactivity the touchscreen goes dark and the treadmill drops to less than half a watt. The screen looks completely off, and the treadmill can seem like it will not turn on — this is normal and not a fault. This article shows how to wake it, why it takes up to 90 seconds, and how to change the timer.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Waking it up
- Press the STOP button on the Stop Keypad — the panel in the middle of the crossbar, between the cup holders.
- Give it up to 90 seconds. The SE4 is a full touchscreen console and takes a little while to start up. This is longer than you might expect, and it is normal.
- Wait for the home screen to appear. Your treadmill is then ready to use.
| Pressing STOP is the only thing you need to do. Tapping the dark screen will not wake it, and there is no power button on the console. |
Changing how long it waits
You can set how many minutes of inactivity it takes before the treadmill sleeps — anywhere from one to five.
- Open Manager’s Configuration. See the Manager’s Configuration article for the tap sequence.
- Go to Configuration, then Manager.
- Find ErP Mode in the settings list and choose the option you want.
- Exit System Options. Your setting is saved automatically.
ErP Mode is not the same as off
A treadmill in ErP Mode is still connected to power. If you want it fully off, use the power switch underneath the unit — “l” is on, “0” is off. Life Fitness also recommends unplugging the treadmill when it will not be used for a while.
Important Because the screen looks off in ErP Mode, it is easy to assume the treadmill has no power. Always unplug the treadmill at the wall before cleaning it or reaching under the unit. |
Troubleshooting
- The screen is dark and pressing STOP does nothing. Check that the treadmill is plugged in and the power switch underneath the unit is set to “l”. Give it the full 90 seconds before deciding nothing is happening.
- Tapping the screen does not wake it. It will not. The touchscreen is unpowered in ErP Mode — you have to press STOP.
- It keeps going to sleep before I have finished setting up. Raise the ErP Mode setting to five minutes using the steps above.
- It is slower to wake than my old treadmill. Up to 90 seconds is expected. The console is starting up from a true low-power state, not resuming from standby.
Safety Never assume a dark screen means the treadmill is unpowered. Unplug the product before cleaning it or servicing any part of it. |
