Applies to: Atmos Treadmill, Cross-Trainer, Upright Bike, and Recumbent Bike — SE4 Console
Coach Workouts are instructor-led classes that stream to your SE4 console and play on screen while it tracks your workout. They are included, with no subscription, and need Wi-Fi. This article shows how to browse and filter the class library, start a class, choose backing music, connect headphones, and save your workout.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Important Coach Workouts stream over the internet, so your equipment needs to be connected to Wi-Fi. See the Manager’s Configuration article if you have not set that up yet. |
Finding a class
- Tap Choose Workout on the home screen, then Coach Workouts.
- Browse the library. Each class shows its length and its instructor on the tile.
- Use Filter to narrow it down if the library feels like a lot. Clear All resets your choices.
- Tap a class to read its description and see how long it runs before you commit.
- Tap to start. The console counts down from three and the class begins.
Sound
You will want audio for these. Connect Bluetooth headphones through Settings, or plug wired headphones into the jack below the screen. See the Connecting Bluetooth Devices article.
During the class
The class plays full screen while your time, distance, calories, and heart rate keep running along the top — you are working out, not just watching.
- Music — tap Choose a Playlist to pick backing music, and adjust its volume separately from the instructor’s voice.
- Your own settings — speed, incline, resistance, and level all stay under your control. Follow the coach’s cues as closely or as loosely as you like.
- Finishing — when the class ends, or if you stop early, the console shows your workout summary.
| Sign in to your Life Fitness Connect account before you start and the class is saved to your history automatically when you finish. |
Troubleshooting
- The library is empty or will not load. This is almost always Wi-Fi. Check your equipment is connected, and that your connection is working on another device in the room.
- The video keeps stopping or looks low quality. Your connection is struggling. Equipment far from the router is the usual cause.
- I cannot hear the instructor. Check your headphones are connected and check the volume — the instructor and the music have separate volume controls.
- The class is too hard or too easy. Adjust your own speed and incline. The coach’s cues are guidance, not commands, and the class will keep playing regardless.
Safety Set up your class and your headphones before you start your workout. On a treadmill, clip the emergency stop cord to your clothing first, and do not look at the screen instead of where you are going. |
