Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill — SL Console
ErP Mode is the energy-saving sleep mode on your Atmos Home Treadmill with the SL console. After five minutes of inactivity the display goes dark and the treadmill drops to less than half a watt. The console looks completely off, and the treadmill can seem like it will not turn on — this is normal and not a fault. This article shows how to wake it, how long that takes, and how ErP Mode differs from switching the treadmill off.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Waking it up
- Press the STOP button on the Stop Keypad — the panel in the middle of the crossbar, between the cup holders.
- Give it up to 30 seconds. The console needs a moment to start up.
- Wait for the display to return to its usual “Please choose a workout or press GO” message. Your treadmill is then ready to use.
| Pressing STOP is the only thing you need to do. There is no power button on the console, and you do not need to unplug or restart anything. |
ErP Mode is not the same as off
A treadmill in ErP Mode is still connected to power. If you want it fully off, use the power switch underneath the unit — “l” is on, “0” is off. Life Fitness also recommends unplugging the treadmill when it will not be used for a while.
Important Because the console looks off in ErP Mode, it is easy to assume the treadmill has no power. Always unplug the treadmill at the wall before cleaning it or reaching under the unit. |
Changing the setting
An ErP Mode entry appears in Manager’s Configuration. ErP Mode exists to meet energy-efficiency requirements, so contact Customer Support Services before changing it. See the Manager’s Configuration article for how to reach that menu.
Troubleshooting
- The console is dark and pressing STOP does nothing. Check that the treadmill is plugged in and that the power switch underneath the unit is set to “l”. If it is, and the console still will not wake, contact Customer Support Services.
- It went dark again while I was getting ready. Five minutes of inactivity is all it takes. Press STOP to wake it and start your workout.
- The console is slow to come back. Up to 30 seconds is expected. The console is starting up from a true low-power state, not resuming from standby.
Safety Never assume a dark console means the treadmill is unpowered. Unplug the product before cleaning it or servicing any part of it. |
