Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill — SL Console
This guided tour of the SL console on your Atmos Home Treadmill covers the display and workout metrics, the six workout keys — Manual, Interval, Heart Rate, Hill, Goal +, and Fit Test — the speed, incline, and time controls, the GO, STOP, and COOL DOWN keys, and the connections for Bluetooth, Apple Watch, headphones, and USB.
Read through the tour below, or watch the short video.
The display
The top line shows messages and prompts — “Please choose a workout or press GO” when you start, and instructions such as “Enter weight” as you set a workout up.
Beneath it, your workout metrics run across the console: Calories, Distance, Incline, Time, Speed, and Pace or Heart Rate.
Two of those positions hold a pair of metrics rather than one. Time can show time elapsed or time remaining, and the last position can show pace or heart rate. Use the small up and down arrows beside each to switch between them, at any point during your workout.
Workouts
The panel on the left holds six workout keys, with a profile window above them. Press a key, then use the arrows beside them to scroll through the workouts in that category — the profile window draws the shape of whichever one you have landed on, and also shows volume changes and the countdown before a speed change.
| Workout | What it is for |
| Manual | Set a time goal and control speed and incline yourself. |
| Interval | Alternating work and recovery. Choose High Intensity for speed and VO2 max, or Endurance for longer runs. |
| Heart Rate | Set a target heart rate and the treadmill adjusts incline to hold it. Needs a heart rate strap or watch connected over Bluetooth. |
| Hill | Varied inclines — Rolling Hills, Interval Hill, Kilimanjaro, or Random. |
| Goal + | Set a distance, calorie, or climb goal. |
| Fit Test | A five-minute submaximal test that uses your heart rate to estimate your VO2 max. |
Each of these has its own article with step-by-step setup.
Workout controls
The middle of the console is where you change what the treadmill is doing. Everything here works during a workout, not just before it.
- Incline — up and down arrows, plus quick keys for 15, 9, and 3 to jump straight to a level.
- Time — up and down arrows to extend or shorten your workout.
- Speed — up and down arrows, plus three quick keys preset to 3, 5, and 7 mph (5, 8, and 11 kph). Press one during a workout and the belt moves to that speed.
- Numeric keypad — type a value directly instead of holding an arrow down, then press ENTER. Faster for entering your weight or a longer goal.
| If you would rather the quick speed keys asked before jumping to a new speed, that confirmation step can be switched on in Manager’s Configuration. |
Starting, stopping, and cooling down
| Key | What it does |
| GO (green) | Starts a Quick Start workout straight away, with no setup. |
| STOP (red) | Press once during a workout to pause. Press again while paused to end the workout. |
| COOL DOWN (blue) | Switches the workout into cool down mode. |
| Bluetooth | The small key to the left of GO. Pairs Bluetooth audio devices and wireless heart rate straps. |
How long the treadmill waits while paused before ending the workout is set by Pause Time in Manager’s Configuration.
Connections and everything else
| Feature | What it is for | |
| Mobile Device Pairing | The pad at the lower left. Pairs your phone to the console over Bluetooth proximity or NFC, for signing in and tracking workouts to the Life Fitness Connect app. | |
| Apple Watch | The pad at the lower right. Connects an Apple Watch for workout tracking and live data sharing over Apple GymKit. | |
| Reading rack | Holds a book, a phone, or a tablet. | |
| USB port | Covered port for charging a device, and for software updates. | |
| Audio jack | Covered 3.5 mm socket for wired headphones. | |
| Media controls | Integrated TV controls — power, channel, volume, and closed captions. Whether they reach your own television depends on the set. |
Where to go next
- Setting up each workout type — Manual, Interval, Heart Rate, Hill, and Goal +.
- Connecting Your Apple Watch, and Connecting Your Life Fitness Connect App.
- Manager’s Configuration, for units, language, and Wi-Fi.
- ErP Mode, if your console has gone dark.
Safety Use extreme caution when stepping onto a moving belt. Clip the emergency stop cord to your clothing before every workout, and use the handrails when getting on and off. |
