Applies to: Atmos Home Treadmill — SL Console
A Hill workout on your Atmos Home Treadmill with the SL console changes the incline for you while you walk or run. Choose Rolling Hills, Interval Hill, Kilimanjaro, or Random. This article shows how to pick a profile, set the highest incline level your workout will reach from 1 to 15, enter your time and weight, and change the level partway through.
Read the steps below, or watch the short video.
Four profiles to choose from
| Profile | What the incline does |
| Rolling Hills | Rises and falls steadily through consistent incline levels. |
| Interval Hill | Alternates between two incline levels. |
| Kilimanjaro | Climbs steadily to a peak, then descends. |
| Random | Changes incline unpredictably. |
As you scroll through them, the display draws the shape of each profile so you can see what you are choosing.
Setting it up
- Press HILL in the Workouts panel, then press ENTER.
- Use the arrows to choose your profile, then press ENTER.
- Enter your level, from 1 to 15, and press ENTER. This is the steepest the workout will get, not the incline it starts at.
- Enter your time and press ENTER.
- Enter your weight and press ENTER.
- The console counts down from three, then the belt starts and the incline begins following your profile.
| If you are not sure what level to pick, start lower than you think. You can raise the level partway through, and a hill workout at level 8 is harder than most people expect. |
During your workout
You can change your level at any point, so there is no need to get it right first time. Speed stays under your control throughout — the profile only drives the incline. Press COOL DOWN when you want to switch into cool down mode.
Troubleshooting
- The climb is harder than I expected. Lower your level, or reduce your speed and keep the incline. Walking a steep hill is a legitimate workout.
- The incline is not changing. Some profiles hold an incline for several minutes at a time. Check the incline reading on the display over a few minutes before assuming something is wrong.
- It will not let me go above a certain level. Your console has a maximum incline set in Manager’s Configuration. That limit applies to hill workouts too.
Safety The incline changes on its own during this workout. Use the handrails if you feel unsteady as the deck moves, keep your feet within the walking surface, and clip the emergency stop cord to your clothing before you start. |
